I have had a long and busy week; we had some friends staying with us at home because they are moving to Hawaii and needed a place to stay while they clear housing.
IT IS SNOWING IN SOUTHERN GEORGIA AND EASTERN ALABAMA!!!!!
Yes, ladies and gentlemen; it has been snowing here for the last few hours, on and off. Nothing is accumulating but at least this morning when I went outside to say hello to the morning stars, my nipples got hard and Mr. Happy went into hiding. I was amazed that there was so much snow in the air, but NOTHING was on the ground. What a shame!
Life has started to level and I am working hard trying to get the finances in order. We did spend too much this last Christmas and we are starting to pay for it now. We are not broke but we are feeling the financial crunch with the gas prices and the girls growing up and the fact that they have to be fed and clothed and entertained and other stuff that was not on the manual when we decided to have the kids.

I bet my parents felt the same way when we were growing up.

I was asked to leave Best Buy and NEVER comeback !!!

This happened again, it has not been only twice.
The first time was when I was waiting on line to buy more RAM for my laptop and there was an older couple ahead of me with their laptop on hand.
I heard the older gentleman explain that Windows VISTA had crashed and Best Buy should have it fixed because the computer was not even 3 months old. The clerk, with a stand of "I know more than you do" told him that it was his fault because he didn't pay for the premium service and he just had to leave the computer in the store and pay about $200 to bring that computer to life. The older gentleman told the clerk that his older Windows XP computer never did that. The clerk responded with "Windows XP is over, Windows XP doesn't exist anymore."
That was enough, I told the clerk from the waiting line, where I was, that he was being a prick about the whole thing, only "because you only know 1% more than he knows about computer you should not make him believe that he is an idiot." Then he tried to say something and I said that the store clerks should have spend 5 minutes explaining him the good and bad of VISTA, so the gentleman would not have this problem right now, but because you treated him as a number and NOT as a customer, he is here not knowing what to do. Also, I HAVE A DEGREE IN THIS FIELD and I can tell you that Windows XP is not gone and it will be here for a LONG TIME. How I know that? because all my customers DO NOT WANT Windows VISTA in their computers.

That is when I was asked to leave.

The second time was a few months ago when I went to buy a laptop for a friend, I bought one for about $399, it was on sale and it was Windows VISTA with an 80GB hard drive and 512MB of RAM2. The other model was twice the RAM and a 120GB HD was almost $300 more, but unless you download all your movies to your hard drive, you will NEVER fill 80GB.
I also checked the cost of 2GB of RAM2 sold separately and it was only $50. The clerk started to tell me that I better buy the PROTECTIVE software; Norton Antivirus, Norton Firewall, Norton Systemworks, The safety extended package, The GEEK Squad recovery package, etc. I told her that it was not necessary and that I was going to buy the RAM separately and install it myself. She told me that I shouldn't do that because I didn't know what type of RAM I needed and it should be done by professionals, and she said that if it crashes don't come back here asking for help. That was it, I asked to speak with the manager, the manager came to talk to me and ask him to explain why she was pushing the sales, the manager tried to come up with a lot of technical Bull Shit and wanted me to know, in front of all the people to hear, that he knew more than I did. Then I explain to the guy that 75% of the internet services in the city had been installed by 10 technicians, one of them being me, I and myself, helping Voo and Brandon with the help of Charles, calling Arnold every five minutes and Ron and James, Victor, Pam, Carmen (All of us laying about enough wire to go from here to the Moon) and that the little bit he knew about computers was just that, a little bit. I was asked to leave, I bought the computer and the RAM and left. I was also asked to never comeback. But Best Buy has great deals, just shitty service.
